Mt. Ngauruhoe (2,291 m) -Tongariro National Park -North Island / New Zealand

Greetings from New Zealand. All that preparation in travel photography of course had a goal. I’m in the land that has served as backdrop to many great films as “The Lord of the Rings” or “A River Runs Through It”. By the way, since I saw the latter I always dreamed of doing fly fishing myself and just yesterday I had the opportunity to get me started in a unbelievable landscape near the largest lake in the southern hemisphere. Lake ‘Taupo’ is located in central North Island of New Zealand, not far from the “Tongariro National Park”. Maybe this does not sound much to those who have never been here, but surely the landscape does, as it has been here where the fictional country of “Mordor” from the movie “Lord of the Rings” has been filmed. It really reminds in parts on Lanzarote and the Canary Islands, but with the difference that everything is bigger and in many places not only the smell of sulfur is present at all the times, but also one can see the steam coming out of the earth as it is still boiling here only a few meters beneath our feet .

If you want to follow my adventures in this country and see some pictures from this trip go to the website I created for this reason: www.nz-trip.com
The page is in English, and is written by Andrea, my travel companion. By the way, Andrea also does have her own website on which she recommends beautiful trails and hikes in Lanzarote. The site can be found at: www.outdoorlanzarote.com

More news and photos once I finish this trip and I’ll be back in Lanzarote.

Take care
